Old European cut in flowers
Antique old European cut diamond in an unworn white gold ring, circa 1890/2020
Hardly any piece of jewellery has the special meaning and deep symbolism of a diamond ring. As a sign of everlasting love and connection, the diamond, the hardest mineral on earth, has been worn as a gemstone for centuries. The central old-European-cut diamond, which confronts us here in a filigree yet solidly crafted white gold ring, presents itself with wonderful light refraction, good clarity and beautiful white colour (0.44 ct, J, si2). It is an antique diamond cut in the years around 1890. It shows a real firework of light reflections. The solitaire is accompanied by vines and flowers that adorn the openwork surface of the ring. Fine mille-handle ornamentation and delicate openwork distinguish the setting, whose white gold with its festive colouring wonderfully accentuates the sparkle of the magnificent centre stone. The setting was newly created in the USA and the antique gemstone was added by our goldsmith. The result is a ring that, with its individual antique diamond, can be a wonderful love gift or is also ideally suited as an engagement ring.
