The hunter from Kurpfalz
Antique ring made of gold & deer bones, Germany around 1930
The rudimentary canine teeth of the red deer, which are considered valuable hunting trophies and are the most beautiful ornament of the hunter's wife or the hunter himself, are called "Grandeln". The ring here holds a pair of the coveted trophies and keeps you in warm shimmering gold. A classic oak leaf motif of gold and silver frames the grands and visually takes us to the native forest where the deer live whose trophies adorn the center of the piece. Made in the first half of the 20th century, the ring uses an antique ring as its base; it is a unique goldsmith's work. A rather unusual piece of jewellery today with the most beautiful grands, in the long tradition of courtly hunting jewellery.
