London Classic

Noble ring with pearl & diamonds in white gold & platinum, London 2009 resp. around 1900

Hardly any combination of precious materials has inspired artists as much as that of diamonds and pearls. Prince even named an entire album after these treasures of the land and sea, and especially in the field of jewelry, this classic combination has always been popular. The ring here pays homage to this classic combination of materials. At its center, it presents a cultured pearl of beautiful creamy white color. Ten white diamonds frame the pearl and appear like glittering petals. The old-cut gemstones have a total weight of about half a carat and have a wonderful fire. Rings in this shape are true classics of jewelry design, we encounter them throughout the ages. This ring bridges the generations: While the ring head with its diamonds was already created in the years around 1900, the cultured pearl and the ring band were only added in 2009 in the course of a restoration. As a successful marriage of old and new, the ring appears timeless, classic and magnificent. A shimmering blossom for the hand!

A treasure from the depths of the sea - In many cultures around the world, the pearl has a deeply symbolic character. In China they are a symbol of wealth, wisdom and dignity; in Japan they signify good luck, in India the abundance of children. Even among the ancient Greeks and Romans, pearls were highly coveted as pieces of jewellery: the Greek term "margarita" was also used, as it were, to refer to the beloved, a term that has survived to this day in the name Margarete. A lady's jewellery box should not be without the classic pearl necklace. With it one is always well dressed, it decorates for every occasion.
