That Irritated Oyster...

Elegant White Gold Ring With Pearl & Diamonds, Circa 1975

"That irritated oyster that dwells unchristened and nameless in the wet after a silent spasm and a fatal end in the end a pearl" Do you know this beautiful song by Hildegard Knef about the life of an oyster and the birth of a pearl? If not, listen to it, it is very amusing! Two particularly beautiful saltwater pearls, born of oysters, we also see in this vintage ring of the years around 1975. Dynamically juxtaposed, the sea treasures are accompanied by two small diamonds. Probably no other combination of luxurious materials has inspired artists as much as this one. Thus, Prince even named an entire album after these jewels, and especially in the field of jewelry this classic combination has always been popular. Our vintage ring also combines these two special materials and sets them in high karat white gold. The ring is in very good condition and found its way to us from Minden.

A treasure from the depths of the sea - In many cultures around the world, the pearl has a deeply symbolic character. In China, they are a symbol of wealth, wisdom and dignity; in Japan, they signify good luck; in India, the abundance of children. Even among the ancient Greeks and Romans, pearls were highly coveted as jewelry: the Greek term "margarita" was also used to refer to the beloved, as it were, a term that has survived to this day in the name Margaret. The classic pearl necklace must not be missing from a lady's jewelry box. With her you are always well dressed, she decorates for every occasion.
