Fine Ring With Lime Green Beryl & Diamonds in Gold From Our Workshop
Some time ago we had a surprising visit. The two grandsons of a gemstone dealer from Stockholm had moved to Berlin and brought a small treasure with them. In their grandfather's estate, they had found a small box that had lain unnoticed in the attic for decades. It was filled with sparkling gemstones - tourmalines and beryls, already polished. Gustav Caesar had acquired the gems in May 1956, as the handwritten list in the box reveals. Around 170 carats of wonderful gemstones in all the colours of the rainbow had thus been waiting for around 65 years to finally be allowed to shine in the light of the sun! We did not hesitate for long and immediately took over the collection. But how should we present the gemstones? Our goldsmiths designed a ring entirely focused on the presentation of the gemstones. A narrow ring band made of high-carat yellow gold restrainedly wraps around the finger. In its center, the oval gemstone is held securely by four times two pronges. It is accompanied by three white diamonds on the right and left as sparkling points of light. In this ring, a lime green natural beryl is set. Beryls come in a variety of colours, with the blue varieties known as aquamarines and the vibrant green specimens known as emeralds. Nevertheless, they all belong to the same mineral family. Pale green beryls are also called heliodors. We like this ring because it is unfussy and gives way to the beautiful gemstone formerly owned by Sweden. In addition, it is wonderful to combine.
