Solid gold ring with diamonds of different sizes, Germany circa 2010
This wide band ring, which is both massive and extremely effective, is a goldsmith's work from around 2010. The ring is made of 18-carat yellow gold and measures more than 11 millimetres in width. A total of 13 diamonds of very different sizes and very good quality are set into it. and appear as if scattered on it. They are set into the face of the ring so that their surfaces match the height of the gold. In total, the gemstones of the ring weigh about 0.92 carats. What is practical and pleasing about this is that they are rubbed flush into the gold: This means that the ring cannot get stuck anywhere and also leaves woollen scarves, tights and sweaters undamaged. The ring found its way to us here in Berlin and impresses with its fine materials, its unusual design and its massiveness with more than 24 grams of weight.
