Love gods do not calculate
Sustainable platinum ring with five diamonds, made in our workshop
Gods of love do not calculate ... or do they? In any case, the number five is considered the number of love in many Eastern and Western cultures, because it is the indivisible sum of the male number three and the female number two. Already in classical antiquity, the number five was assigned to Venus, the goddess of love. Five sparkling vintage diamonds in brilliant cut also set this ring made of platinum, which was created in our workshop. The gemstones have a combined weight of about 0.35 carats and are arranged in a row across the finger, with all the diamonds being the same size. The side sections of the ring feature sculpted engravings, yet the ring is built to be worn with a wedding band. Its settings, which are closed all around without any lobes, also make the piece of jewellery fully wearable on a daily basis, as it does not pull any threads and is built in a compelling manner. For sustainability reasons, we make this ring from recycled materials here. The platinum of the ring and also the diamonds are used here in second use. The metal comes from old platinum jewelry that was melted down and the diamonds are vintage stones that used to adorn other jewelry. We have observed in numerous old jewels that the cut of the gemstones, for example, is much older than the design of the object itself and therefore they certainly adorned another piece of jewelry before. Precious gemstones and valuable precious metal are not usually thrown away when the design of a piece of jewellery becomes unfashionable; rather, the materials have been and are always being transformed into new forms. This ring fits perfectly into the history of jewellery, which lives above all from the durability of beautiful materials and from constantly changing tastes. Sustainably manufactured, the ring can adorn many generations to come.
