Past and present

Nostalgic ring in Belle Époque forms with sapphires & diamonds, circa 2010

"Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the passing on of fire." This was already known by the famous symphonist Gustav Mahler (1860-1911). This sentence is particularly true of the present modern ring, because its formal language and also its decoration go back to models of the Belle Époque. The ring is forged from high carat white gold. The large ring face sets natural sapphires and diamonds in various modern and historical cuts. In fact, in addition to diamonds in the modern brilliant cut, there are also stones that were cut as early as around 1910. These are the large diamonds in the center of the design and on the right and left sides of the oval of sapphire. This unusual combination of gemstones not only creates an elegant contrast of blue and white, sapphires in the color of fidelity in a frame of white diamonds, which have always been considered the stones of eternity. The ring rather combines the past and the present. On the one hand in its materials through the use of modern, newly cut diamonds next to those that already bring their own history and probably come from older jewelry. On the other hand also by its form, because also the design of the ring refers to the past, because it receives models of the years around 1910, although brought into a new powerful form. All in all, the result is a high-quality jewel that beautifully combines tradition and modernity - and is made to last for generations.
