Elegant white gold ring with antique 1.16 ct old European cut diamond, circa 1890/2018
Hardly any piece of jewellery has the special meaning and deep symbolism of a diamond ring. As a sign of everlasting love and connection, the diamond, as the hardest mineral on earth, has been worn as a gemstone for centuries. Especially a diamond in the old European cut is always individual - unlike today's brilliants in the modern full cut, of which almost one looks like the other, you can always enjoy a very unique, handmade proportion and shape of diamonds in the old European cut. The central brilliant, which we see here in a finely crafted white gold ring, presents itself with wonderful light refraction. Weighing in at 1.165 ct, it displays a sparkling firework of light reflections. The stone in lightly tinted white appears with wonderful purity, so that even with a sharp magnifying glass, no large inclusions are visible. The solitaire is accompanied by thirty smaller diamonds, which adorn the shoulders and head of the ring. The gold surface is so finely crafted and openworked that it almost resembles lace, and the milgrain setting further refract the light. We obtained the finely crafted ring from a manufactory in the USA in order to give the diamond, which came to us here in Berlin unmounted, a worthy setting. The gold with its cool and light white accentuates the sparkle of the magnificent center stone. The noble ring is a dreamlike piece of jewellery that is particularly suitable as a love gift or as an engagement ring.
"Even if the preferred gemstones change and celebrate their resurrection as the darling of the ladies only after years - the brilliant has never lost its position, evenly like its impeccably clear fire it outlasts all currents of fashion. It is therefore understandable that so many desires secretly aim at rings with diamonds..." (From a jewellery brochure of the 1930s)
