Antique gold ring with natural sapphires, England circa 1890

Five exceptional sapphires are the protagonists of this ring, crafted in the last years of the Victorian era Britain. Rhe color of the sapphires is really beautiful. A total of 4.00 carats of magnificent gemstones have gathered here, bathing the entire face of the ring in a deep cornflower blue. The gemstones are arranged so that a larger center stone is flanked by four almost imperceptibly smaller stones. The transverse ring head holds the gemstone set with claws of warm yellow gold, harmoniously rounding out the play of colors. Rings like this have been popular throughout the late 19th century and have been made in a wide variety of material combinations. The choice of stones was always based on symbolic considerations, as this was a way of conveying messages that were visible to all. Our ring speaks of fidelity, symbolized by the sapphires, because that is what these minerals mean in the language of gemstones. The ring, which we discovered in London, is beautifully preserved and a true testament to its time, made of precious materials, which also looks wonderful worn. We have had the quality of the materials checked by an independent gemstone laboratory in Idar-Oberstein. The certificate is delivered together with the ring.

The present piece of jewelry is a so-called. "Trilogy Ring", whose three gemstones have a special meaning. The triple number of gemstones means first of all a temporal component, which refers to a common life in the past, present and future. The emphasis is deliberately placed on the present in the middle of the ring, which is formed by the sapphire. In addition, the stones themselves are symbolically charged: The blue sapphire has always been a symbol of loving fidelity. According to legend, the diamond is considered indestructible and is therefore a gemstone that stands for eternity. The ring is therefore a love gift that is also ideally suited as an engagement ring.
