Beautiful vintage yellow gold wallis chain bracelet, around 1980
The beautiful 14-karat yellow gold bracelet here glows in a rich gold hue and features a classic bold cord pattern, also called a "Wallis pattern" or "Welsh chain." These chains are composed of hollow links that are staggered in pairs to create the impression of a continuous cord. In fact, some chains of this type have been found during excavations in British Wales, dating back to the 7th century. This gold cord bracelet is an ideal companion for everyday wear, but it also becomes a real eye-catcher when combined with elegant evening wear. It is 6.1 mm wide and 20.0 cm long and is fastened with a strong carabiner. The piece of jewellery, which we were able to acquire from a Rhineland collection, was created in the years around 1980.
