To a wonderful future

Stunning Platinum Ring with 4.86 ct Old European Cut Solitaire, dated 1900

Joyful excitement reigns on Unter den Linden, the Hotel Adlon is hosting a lavish party in its grand hall with the Elephant Fountain. Elegant ladies in glamorous dresses with feathers and sequins sip glasses, fine gentlemen in tuxedos with gold pocket watches help themselves to champagne served by liveried waiters on silver trays. The atmosphere is supported by bands playing atmospheric music, and the guests eagerly await the grand fireworks display that bids farewell to the old century and welcomes the new. The grand hotels of the city of Berlin organized celebrations of unprecedented grandeur and elegance on New Year's Eve in 1899. At midnight all the bells of the Berlin churches rang out, salut shots were fired from the city palace, and the brass of the city band sounded fanfares from the Red City Hall. "Happy New Year!" - the new century began... The ring here may have been present at one of these legendary celebrations - it may even have been the engagement ring for a proposal on New Year's Eve at the turn of the century 1899/1900 - for "1900" is engraved in fine numerals on its rail like a promise of a wonderful future. The hand-forged ring bears in its centre a diamond of an impressive 4.86 carats in a historic cushion cut. Its color is lemony white, like frosting on a cake, and a beautifully detailed setting of fine platinum holds the large diamond in an airy lobed setting. The ring band is finely engraved on its outer surface, taking the heaviness out of the ring. The large diamond has been classified by an independent laboratory as having a clarity grade of "vsi", as it carries no inclusions visible to the naked eye - a real rarity in diamonds of this size. Its color, classified as "natural light yellow", appears white to the eye and depending on the incidence of light, the diamond unfolds its natural fresh color tone. The ring is in first-class condition and is a unique, simply inspiring piece of jewellery with an individual old-cut diamond weighing almost 5 carats. An auspicious gift of love.

Large diamonds are something wonderful - don't you think? A diamond ring like this large solitaire is all about emotion. If it is given as an engagement ring, it will complete a series of dreamy excursions into the realm of fantasy that once began with the first toy ring in childhood. If, on the other hand, you give the diamond to yourself as a gift, for example on a very personal occasion, from then on it will always remind you of that special moment, which can be recreated in your memory whenever your gaze loses itself in the sparkle and glitter of the stone.
