Vintage gold chain ring with ruby and diamonds, Germany circa 1990
A ruby is the focal point of this ring from around 1990. The raspberry red gemstone has been cut into an oval cabochon and is presented here lying horizontally across the finger. A white rhodium-plated frame surrounds the center stone with six small diamonds. The ring band then surprises with an unusual design: the gold visually forms chain links that fit snugly around the finger. At second glance, it becomes clear that this is a trompe-l'œil effect - the impression of an articulated chain is in fact only an optical one, as the ring shank has been cast in one piece. The beautiful vintage ring came to us here in Berlin and is in very good condition.
