Beautiful vintage gold necklace by Andreas Daub, Pforzheim circa 1955
In the early years of the Federal Republic, precious gold jewellery was one of the indispensable status symbols of the bourgeoisie and golden jewels fulfilled the dreams of the ladies of the time. After the years of privation during the war, the economic miracle brought new wealth and allowed the fulfilment of these luxurious needs. This necklace, which we discovered in Bonn, originates from this time of regained joie de vivre in Germany. The necklace is made of solid 14-karat yellow gold and fits comfortably around the neck. The necklace features the decorative Garibaldi pattern in flattened links that grow slightly larger towards the centre. A beautiful gold necklace from the 1950s with lovely details from Andreas Daub's manufactory in Pforzheim, which was founded in 1872.
