Antique 6.75 ct old cut diamond as solitaire in modern platinum setting, circa 1890/2021
A diamond ring like this large solitaire is all about emotion. If it is given as an engagement ring, it will complete a series of dreamy excursions into the realm of fantasy that once began with the first toy ring in childhood. If, on the other hand, you give the diamond to yourself as a gift, for example on a very personal occasion, it will always remind you of that special moment, which can be recreated in your memory whenever your gaze loses itself in the sparkle and glitter of the stone. Beyond the reveries lie the facts. The ring in question here holds at its centre a diamond of an impressive 6.75 carats in the historic old cut with a diameter of just under 13 millimetres. Its color is lightly tinted and appears pleasantly warm white to the eye. Its clarity is first class: The brilliant has been classified by an independent institute with the purity grade "vsi2", meaning it has no inclusions visible to the eye - and only barely perceptible with a magnifying glass. The antique diamond, which was cut around 1890, came to us from Hamburg and is delivered with the corresponding certificate. The large solitaire is set in high-carat platinum to further enhance its glow and color: Six airy lobes hold it securely and allow maximum light penetration. The wonderfully symmetrical cut gives the almost seven-carat diamond a magnificent fire. The elegant setting for the diamond has been forged by our goldsmith to match the stone, making the historic diamond effectively wearable. A wonderful jewel in fine platinum with a large individually cut diamond of the late 19th century. A ring in a class of its own.
Hardly any piece of jewellery has the special meaning and deep symbolism of a diamond ring. As a sign of everlasting love and connection, the diamond, the hardest mineral on earth, has been worn as a gemstone for centuries.
