Simple vintage band ring with quarter carat solitaire in gold, around 1985
Powerful, yellow gold rings like this one were a big fashion of the 1980s. Strong colours and the warm glow of gold defined the jewellery designs of the time and here, too, the will to create a powerful design is immediately noticeable. The band ring is forged from 14-karat gold and holds a brilliant-cut diamond weighing 0.25 ct. The stone is slightly arm toned, but very pure. It is set flush into the gold so that it shines completely surrounded by the precious metal. The ring, rather delicate in its dimensions, is nevertheless powerful. It captivates with its noble materials and convincing design language, which combines understatement and simplicity. The ring came to us from western Germany and is beautifully preserved.
