Elegant vintage brooch with tourmaline & diamonds in gold, circa 1950
This brooch is an elegant piece of jewellery from the time of the German economic miracle. Stylistically, it is still very much in the tradition of late Art Deco, which was to remain alive well into the 1950s. The brooch is in the form of an elongated oval made of yellow gold, which encloses a stylized bow motif in the center. Here a wonderful tourmaline shines, accompanied by small diamond roses. The large gemstone is designed in a staircase cut that shows off its pinkish-purple colour particularly well. The unique goldsmith's work was created in Germany, as its hallmark shows. Similar works can be found in numerous jewellery catalogues of the time. The brooch is beautifully preserved and a stylish eye-catcher on any outfit.
