Rose Blossom

Elegant Platinum Ring With Morganite & Diamonds - From Our Workshop

Morganite, also known as rose beryl or pink emerald, was discovered in Madagascar in 1910. The chief gemologist of the jewellery house Tiffany & Co., George Kunz, named the new gemstone after the New York banker and gemstone collector John Pierpont Morgan to honour his philanthropic commitment: In fact, just three years later, Pierpont Morgen bequeathed his extensive collection of precious gemstones to the Museum of Modern History in New York. The morganite quickly became a true fashion stone, as its pale pink colour was a wonderful match for the fashions of the early 20th century. Whether it was the light blue of the aquamarine, the fresh green of the peridot or the pink of the fragrant rose blossoms of the morganite, the jewellery of this time sparkled with preference in the delicate colours of fine gemstones. This ring from our workshop is a reminiscence of the Art Deco period, the style that flourished in New York and Paris. Set in fine platinum and accompanied by a total of twelve historical diamonds, the natural morganite at its centre sparkles brightly and clearly. Our daily contact with historical objects guided us to design the ring in the spirit of the antique pieces. We had it cast in platinum using ancient techniques and refined by hand. The result is a modern ring which, with its delicate forms and high-quality workmanship, is in the best tradition of the European art of jewellery.
