A spring greeting
Hand-forged white gold ring with emerald & diamonds, Dortmund circa 1975
The emerald is a gemstone that is likely to immediately captivate any gemstone lover. Its wonderful and everlasting green makes it the classic stone of hope, as well as the stone of wisdom and inspiration. It is said that Cleopatra adorned herself with emeralds to rejuvenate herself and to preserve her beauty, since according to ancient belief, inexhaustible grace and youth reside in the emerald. For thousands of years, the emerald has been one of the most prized gemstones and especially stones from the world-famous mines of Colombia enjoy a legendary reputation. A gorgeous green emerald weighing about 1.40 ct is set in the ring here. The stone, in a near square cut, is very clear and has a high clarity that is enriched by a delicate jardin that infuses the gemstone with crystalline textures. Ten brilliant-cut diamonds and four navette-cut diamonds are set as framing companion stones around the green gemstone, highlighting its beautiful color with their sparkle. Restrained settings in white gold lead to a ring rail that widens towards the bottom in the shape of a stirrup, making the piece of jewellery pleasant to wear. The ring is a unique hand-forged piece from the 1970s and came to us in Berlin's Charlottenburg district. In its rail we see the fineness stamp "585" as well as a workshop mark, which probably refers to Juwelier Rüschenbeck from Dortmund. The ring comes with a detailed certificate of the German Society for Gemstone Evaluation, which confirms the quality of the materials used. An expressive ring with a clear design language.
