A brooch dating from around 1890 has been given a new lease on life here: these earrings were crafted from elements of that very brooch. Originally, these showpieces—set with natural pearls, Burmese rubies, and small diamonds—were part of a brooch from the Imperial era. In our workshop, the antique fragments were reworked to reinterpret them and make them wearable once again. Our goldsmith added a slightly teardrop-shaped pearl with a rosy luster to each of the antique centerpieces, echoing the rose-red colour of the rubies. Since the pieces are crafted in slightly reddish gold, the newly attached ear hooks are also made of this metal. Each of the simple earrings—which widen slightly toward the bottom—is set with two historically cut rose cut diamonds, two natural pearls, and two rubies. The antique fragments, with their historic gemstones, make these earrings one-of-a-kind pieces. It is now rare to find rose cut diamonds or untreated Burmese rubies in contemporary pieces of jewellery, making these earrings a special opportunity for connoisseurs of luxurious earrings.
