Some time ago, we were lucky enough to purchase a collection of tourmalines and beryls that had been lying dormant in the warehouse of a gemstone dealer in Stockholm since the 1950s. Our goldsmiths designed a ring that presents one of these gemstones accompanied by six diamonds - made from sustainable materials, with diamonds that also have their own history, giving the historic materials a new lease of life. Most of the original tourmalines have now been sold. However, after numerous requests, we went in search of beautiful, bright tourmalines again and discovered some more tourmalines in wonderful colors at our gemstone dealer in Idar-Oberstein. These stones are newly cut and have now been set into a ring for the first time. A particularly intense, natural green tourmaline - a so-called "verdelite" - is set in this ring. Its color is a vivid, almost luminous green that radiates depth and freshness at the same time. This extraordinary tone gives the stone a wonderful presence and makes it literally blossom. These rare gemstones have only been known in Europe since the beginning of the 18th century, when Dutch merchants first brought them back from East Asia. We like this ring because it is straightforward and allows the beautiful gemstone to take center stage. It can also be combined wonderfully. Which of the sparkling colors do you like best?
